Chasing Waterfalls

Last Sunday was one of my rare days off and I decided, what better way to spend it than Continue reading “Chasing Waterfalls”

Roasted Cauliflower with Thai Sweet Chilli Sauce

Over the summer I worked for a local catering company preparing food for events as well as for the store. This is one of the main salads that I, along with my coworkers, assembled numerous times over the course of the summer. I’ve adapted the recipe to make it my own by adding a home made chilli sauce to the mix. Hopefully you all enjoy this salad as much as I do. I was definitely know to take “tasters” of this one.

Creamy Tahini Dressing

I am a lover of salads. They are always my go-to lunch and my go-to dinner if I’m feeling lazy and don’t want to cook. Part of what makes salads so great is the huge variety that’s out there. Think about it, there’s chicken salad, Caesar salad, pasta salad, cooked salads, raw salads and about any other type of salad that you could possibly imagine. I also love the wide varieties of dressings that are available o take your personalized salad to the next level. This is an easy and creamy dressing without any of the actual cream. Classic Hummus

I absolutely adore hummus. I’m not even kidding, I will put hummus on everything! My friends actually make fun of my hummus addiction sometimes… If I’m being honest, I don’t usually use a recipe for my hummus I just kind of add what I think will be good and taste as I go until I get my desired flavour. For this recipe I actually measured all the ingredients instead of just throwing things in. Continue reading “Classic Hummus”

Sprouted Buckwheat Granola

This recipe actually happened by accident. I was soaking buckwheat groats for a different granola recipe, but the next morning after the groats were already soaked I realized that I did not have any of the other ingredients. So, I drained the groats and left them to sit for a day and a bit, and when I revisited them to make my recipe I found that they had sprouted little tails! At this point I abandoned the recipe I was planning to make and decided to create my own to share with you. Continue reading “Sprouted Buckwheat Granola”

Ginger Peach Overnight Oats

You’ve probably noticed my love for breakfast foods by now. I especially love breakfast foods that are easy, like overnight oats. These are great because all you have to do is mix all the ingredients together the night before, pop ‘Em in the fridge, then enjoy them the next morning (after taking a million pictures of them if you’re like me). I always like to mix up the flavour of my overnight oats to add some variety to my routine. This combination is great for the summer when peaches are in season, but feel free to play with this and find what you like best. Continue reading “Ginger Peach Overnight Oats”

Kick Start Green Smoothie Bowl

This may seem like an odd title to you, but I am currently battling my way through the first week back at school. So far I can say that having physics, advanced functions and chemistry back to back to back is not exactly ideal, but I mean things could be worse, right? Anyways, this is the perfect kick start to a busy day. You’ll probably notice that I have a serious thing for green smoothies as I’m sure that many different variations will appear on this site as time progresses, but who doesn’t like a good green smoothie? Or two? Or four?  Continue reading “Kick Start Green Smoothie Bowl “
