I really enjoy the convenience of being able to wake up in the morning and have my breakfast ready for me. Whenever I make a smoothie for breakfast I prepare it the evening prior to when I’ll be consuming it. I do this so a) I can just “grab and go” in the morning, and b) I won’t be that jerk who runs the blender at 7am.
I rarely use a recipe when I make a smoothie, unless I have one that is tested and true, instead I just throw whatever I feel will be good into the blender and give it a whirl. This is a combination that I tried last night and I had to restrain myself from just aborting the whole breakfast prep and sipping the whole thing down right then (my morning self would have been mad about my evening self’s decision).
Since this weekend is thanksgiving here in Canada I figured a smoothie for breakfast was a good idea because it is gentle on the digestive system without lacking flavour or substance. It’s good to give the old stomach a break every once and a while and especially when your digestive system is already racing to keep up with all the turkey, casseroles and stuffing being consumed on this three day eatathon.
