Quick Brussels Sprout Slaw

There’s nothing I love more than a good brussels sprout recipe. Seriously though, brussels sprouts are so versatile; you can use them in salads and pastas, you can oats them, shred them, boil them. The possibilities are endless!  Continue reading “Quick Brussels Sprout Slaw”

Chocolate Chunk Banana Bread

After months upon months of stress an, seemingly, never ending work, I am finally free. Last Monday I went for my final university interview and am so relived! Being a senior in high school is hard enough, but when you add in extracurricular activities, work and applications it becomes exhausting. I may have my applications done, but I do still have three more months of school to get through.  Continue reading “Chocolate Chunk Banana Bread”

Buckwheat Banana Pancakes

These last few weeks have been a complete and total whirlwind! With two portfolios due, a mass of school assignments, extracurricular activities and a vacation thrown right in the middle, I’ve had almost no time to myself. Fortunately, it’s starting to wind down (thank God!).  Continue reading “Buckwheat Banana Pancakes”

DIY Nut Butter

If you know me, you know I have an array of odd food obsessions. Hummus, anything with sweet potatoes, sushi, watermelon, just to name a few. I also adore nut butter, especially almond based nut butters (I’m not a fan of peanut butter). Honestly, I could live off of nut butter. I am known to eat it straight out of the jar with a spoon, not even joking.  Continue reading “DIY Nut Butter”

Crispy Roasted Chickpeas

I am a big time snacker. When I get home after a long day my snack is basically a meal. I’m not kidding. That is why it is important for me to keep healthy snacks on hand so that I don’t binge out on chips or something just because they are readily available and require no work on my part to make .  Continue reading “Crispy Roasted Chickpeas”

Kale Caesar Salad

It’s that time of the year; exam season. I know that everyone combats stress differently, whether it be by meditating, eating, crying, or exercising. I personally tame the wild stress beast by baking. As I write this I actually have dough for monkey bread rising in the oven. I’ve been stu(dying) all day and am in major need of some baking therapy.  Continue reading “Kale Caesar Salad”

Ultimate Mac n’ Cheese

A few months back I had a wonderful idea. I was testing out a vegan moussaka recipe from one of my all-time favourite cookbooks, Green Kitchen Travelsand as I was whisking the vegan béchamel sauce I had a wonderful thought. Since I am a fairly busy person, I have Continue reading “Ultimate Mac n’ Cheese”

Mashed Butternut Squash with Maple Pecans

I truly love Thanksgiving, funny enough I was actually born on Thanksgiving. It’s really lovely to sit down with family for a big meal in which everyone has made a contribution. I personally think that Thanksgiving is a close second to christmas, there’s the same feel in the air, the feeling of coziness and warmth.  Continue reading “Mashed Butternut Squash with Maple Pecans”

Blueberry Breakfast Smoothie

I really enjoy the convenience of being able to wake up in the morning and have my breakfast ready for me. Whenever I make a smoothie for breakfast I prepare it the evening prior to when I’ll be consuming it. I do this so a) I can just “grab and go” in the morning, and b) I won’t be that jerk who runs the blender at 7am. Continue reading “Blueberry Breakfast Smoothie”
